Keevers’ 77 Leads Union Grove to Racine County Invite Title

Union Grove captured the Racine County Invite championship behind senior Alana Keevers’ medalist round of 77, posting a team score of 360 on Sept. 14 at Ives Grove’s White and Blue course. The Broncos placed four golfers among the top nine and finished 28 strokes ahead of runner-up The Prairie School.
Keevers delivered the lowest score in the field and claimed individual honors by an 11-stroke margin over Waterford’s Claire Wollermann. Her 77 gave Union Grove a strong foundation in the four-score team format and accounted for the largest individual advantage at the five-team event.
Junior Abby Waterworth supplied the Broncos’ second counting score with a 92, tying for third overall. Sophomore Adeline Dobrinska tied for seventh with a 95, and junior Chelsea Haertel completed the team total by placing ninth with a 96. Union Grove’s counting rounds of 77, 92, 95 and 96 combined for the winning 360.
Senior Aubrey Young added a 101 and tied for 13th in the individual standings. Although her score did not count toward the team total, the result gave Union Grove five finishers among the top 13.
The Prairie School finished second with a 388, followed by Waterford at 398. Burlington placed fourth at 403, and Racine Case rounded out the standings with a 409.
Union Grove’s depth separated the Broncos from the rest of the field. Keevers provided the tournament’s standout round, while Waterworth, Dobrinska and Haertel each secured a top-nine finish to complete the 28-stroke victory.
