Union Grove Broncos Defeat Indian Trail Hawks

Union Grove Varsity Broncos bested Indian Trail Hawks 8-4 on Thursday at Indian Trail High School Union Grove Broncos opened the scoring in the first after Kody Hage grounded out, scoring one run. Union Grove Broncos added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Indian Trail Hawks committed an error, and Jake Reesman singled, each scoring one run. Union Grove Broncos scored five runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Hage singled, scoring one run, Tucker Katterhagen hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Drew Dinauer singled, scoring one run, and Dominic Pascucci singled, scoring two runs. Hage started the game for Union Grove Broncos. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two. Briar Thoe led things off on the bump for Indian Trail Hawks. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking three. Union Grove Broncos collected 12 hits in the game. Hage, Matthew Gruber, Cooper Dye, and Pascucci each collected two hits for Union Grove Broncos.
