In a tightly contested Southern Lakes Conference soccer encounter, Union Grove High School's varsity girls team, the Broncos, emerged victorious with a slender 1-0 win over the Westosha Falcons on a sunny Tuesday at Union Grove High School.

The game remained goalless at halftime, setting the stage for a dramatic second half. Rhyan Hood, Union Grove's standout performer, broke the deadlock in the 59th minute with a stunning goal. Set up by Alina Keller's precise assist, Hood fired the decisive strike into the near top-corner, scripting the only goal of the game. This moment not only highlighted Hood's scoring capabilities but also earned her the accolade of scoring the game-winning goal.

Defensively, the Broncos were solid, with goalie Sam Antonneau playing a crucial role in preserving the shutout.
