Union Grove Broncos Secure 3rd at Rainy Racine County Boys Golf Tournament
In a challenging day marked by rainy conditions, the Union Grove High School boys varsity golf team clinched a solid third-place finish at the Racine County Boys Golf Tournament, held at Meadowbrook Country Club on May 1, 2025.
The Broncos, facing stiff competition from schools around Racine County, ended the tournament with a commendable team score of 343. Despite the early rain which later led to increasingly wet conditions, several Union Grove athletes stood out with their performances. Junior Cody Nelson led the team with a noteworthy score of 82, followed closely by sophomore Cody Borchardt, who scored 86. Senior Caden Eichner and sophomore Jack Ryan added to the team's robust showing with scores of 87 and 88, respectively, while freshman Charlie McSorley rounded out the team's scoring efforts with a score of 95.
This achievement places Union Grove High School prominently in the competitive landscape as they secured the 3rd spot among all participating teams in this challenging tournament. The team is set to continue their season at the Columbus Invite, which will be held at Columbus Country Club in Columbus, WI, on May 10, 2025.
