Union Grove Broncos Shine at Racine County Invite Track Meet

Union Grove High School's track and field teams, both girls and boys, delivered standout performances at the Racine County Invite held at Burlington High School on May 1, 2025. The competition witnessed participation from several schools including Waterford Union, Racine Case, and others, under challenging weather conditions of mist and intermittent rain bursts. The Broncos girls' team clinched a commendable second place with 119 points. Notably, several Union Grove athletes topped their events. Cassie Klepp and Ashley Lamers each secured first place in the Girls 200 Meter Dash and 800 Meter Run respectively, showcasing the talent within the team. Moreover, the girls' relay team, comprising Alyssa Simpson, Gianna Chiapete, Jenna James, and Camryn Smith, also excelled by claiming victory in the 4x800 relay. On the boys' side, the Broncos placed sixth overall, accumulating 49 points. Highlight performances included Nathan Tucker, who sprinted to success in the Boys 100 Meter Dash, setting a remarkable time of 11.08 seconds, and the boys' 4x800 relay team of Parker Newland, Abe Ackley, Asher Gonzales and Xander Stulo, who also topped their event, adding to the Broncos' point tally. In the field events, Samuel Matuszek and Breeya Katterhagen both emerged victorious in the Boys Pole Vault and Girls Discus Throw respectively. Cassie Klepp added to her impressive day by also winning the Girls Long Jump. Looking ahead, Union Grove is set to compete at the next track and field event scheduled for May 7, 2025, at Waterford High School. With this strong performance at the county invite, the Broncos have set high expectations for their next outing.
