Union Grove Broncos With Tough Game Against Middleton Cardinals
Union Grove had trouble keeping up with Middleton Cardinals in an 8-1 loss on Saturday. Middleton Cardinals jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Ray Feinberg laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Easton Harris singled, scoring one run, and Charlie Tompach singled, scoring two runs. Bennett O’Connor earned the win for Middleton Cardinals. The starter gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Jude Rogowski took the loss for Union Grove. The righty went three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking one. Matthew Gruber went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Kody Hage led Union Grove with two hits in three at bats. Union Grove turned one double play in the game. Next up for Union Grove is a game at St. Joseph Lancers on Wednesday.
