Union Grove High School Boys Golf Team Aims for an Exciting Season Ahead
As the 2025 golf season kicks off, Union Grove High School, represented by the Broncos, is poised to make significant strides in the Boys Golf Southern Lakes Conference. Head Coach Eric Swanson, now in his 23rd season with the team, expressed optimism about the team's prospects following their achievement as a Sectional Team Qualifier and finishing 6th in the SLC last season. The Broncos are thrilled to welcome back a robust lineup, including key players Cody Nelson, Caden Eichner, and Jack Ryan. These golfers have shown tremendous improvement and commitment in the offseason. 'I am really excited about this season. We had a record number of golfers try out for golf, and we have three of our best golfers from last year back. The amount of off season work that was put in by our golfers has been great. Returner players came into the season much improved, and we have a large number of freshmen that have golf experience and are looking to make an impact. It should be a fun year,' said Coach Swanson. The season's schedule is packed with challenging competitions across prestigious courses. Highlights include the MACC Fund Invite at Lac La Belle, and multiple major meets at Ives Grove and Brighton Dale Links, promising numerous opportunities for the Broncos to showcase their skills. With a mix of invitational and major tournaments lined up, the team aims to leverage every event to reach their peak by the regional competitions starting May 27, 2025. This year, the team is especially motivated by the addition of skilled freshmen poised to contribute significantly. As they prepare for their first major outing on April 8 at Ives Grove Golf Links, the entire team is buoyed by the fresh talent and the seasoned strategies of their dedicated coach. Union Grove High School’s golf program continues a legacy of excellence, teeing off to what may be one of their most memorable seasons yet.
