Union Grove High School Broncos Clinch 4th Place at WIAA Union Grove Regional Golf Tournament

The Union Grove High School Broncos showcased resilience and skill at the WIAA Union Grove Regional, held at Ives Grove GC on October 1, 2025. The team, competing against strong regional contenders including Waukesha North/South/West, Kettle Moraine, New Berlin Combine, Mukwonago, Muskego, Waterford, and Racine Case, managed to secure a noteworthy fourth-place finish with a team score of 374, tying with Mukwonago initially before defeating them in a dramatic playoff.

Alana Keevers, a junior at Union Grove, led the team's effort with an outstanding score of 79, making her one of the top individual performers of the tournament. Junior Aubrey Young followed with a score of 95, while sophomores Chelsea Haertel and Abby Waterworth each scored 100. Junior Ryann Paredes contributed a 108 to round out the scoring for the Broncos. The day was marked by sunny skies with temperatures in the 70s, providing ideal conditions for golf.

One of the pivotal moments of the tournament came during the playoff hole where Union Grove narrowly edged out Mukwonago 21 to 23. Key performances in the playoff included Keevers' clutch birdie and Young's crucial 10-foot par putt, which ultimately sealed their victory and advancement. The coach praised the team's performance, stating, 'It was an exciting day. It looked like we were going to narrowly miss advancing but we made up strokes on the last few holes to tie Mukwonago. Then we went on to beat them in a playoff 21 to 23, with Alana Keevers having a clutch birdie and Aubrey Young sinking a 10-foot par putt to lead us to victory.'

Looking ahead, the Broncos are set to compete next in the WIAA Waukesha Sectional at The Broadlands, with hopes of continuing their strong performances.
