Union Grove High School Broncos Clinch East Troy Invitational Tennis Championship

The Union Grove High School Broncos exhibited a dominant performance at the East Troy Invitational Tennis Tournament on August 18, 2025. The all-girls team, representing grades 9 through 12, emerged victorious against multiple opponents at the event held in East Troy.

The Broncos confidently defeated the Delavan Darien Comets 7-0 in their initial match. They continued their winning streak with a closely contested 4-3 victory over the East Troy Trojans, before sweeping both the Monroe Cheesemakers and Edgerton with 7-0 scores in each match.

Highlighting the tournament were standout performers Lorelei Nelson at #2 singles and Elli Duval at #3 singles, each securing a perfect 4-0 record through their matches. In doubles play, the #2 team Sophie Madden and Addy Callewaert, along with the #3 duo Allison Wolf and Brooke Bournoville, also finished the event undefeated at 4-0. Bournoville and Wolf notably overcame a deficit in both sets to clinch a victory with scores of 7-5, 6-4 against East Troy, a key win contributing to the Broncos' overall success at the tournament.

According to Coach Murdoch, 'Everyone played well today and contributed in winning the championship,' reflecting the team's cohesive and strong performance. Union Grove outshined seven other teams to secure the top spot at the Invitational.

Looking ahead, the Broncos are scheduled to compete against Beloit Memorial at Union Grove on August 21, 2025. As they prepare for their next challenge, the team aims to extend their current perfect season record of 6-0.
