Union Grove High School Broncos Girls Tennis Sweeps Appleton North Invite

In an impressive show of skill and teamwork, the Union Grove High School Girls Tennis team, known affectionately as the Broncos, claimed victory at the Appleton North Invite held on August 25, 2025, in Appleton. The Broncos triumphed over Appleton West, Appleton North, and Appleton East, showcasing their dominance throughout the tournament.

The tournament commenced with Union Grove decisively blanking Appleton West with a 7-0 scoreline. The momentum continued as they faced a tougher challenge against Appleton North, clinching a narrow 4-3 win which included critical performances in the singles matches. The Broncos concluded the tournament maintaining their unbeaten streak by once again sweeping Appleton East with a score of 7-0, unequivocally establishing themselves as the unbeaten champions of the event.

Standout performances were observed from all four singles players who went undefeated. Cam Smith, playing at #1, Lorelei Nelson at #2, Elli Duval at #3, and Emma Santarelli at #4 each scored 3-0 in their categories. Notably, Emma Santarelli delivered a remarkable performance against Appleton North, winning a challenging three-set match 6-0, 5-7, (10-5). Additionally, Lorelei Nelson's 7-6(7-5), 7-5 win was crucial in securing the overall victory against Appleton North.

The doubles teams also demonstrated commendable synergy and competitiveness, with all three groups recording 2-1. The #1 doubles team of Brooke Spang and Morgan Stewart, along with the pairs of Sophie Madden and Addy Callewaert at #2, and Allison Wolf and Brooke Bournoville at #3, contributed significantly to the team's success.

Reflecting on the day's success, the coach praised the team, "The whole team played well today and our singles players were exceptional."
