On a sunny day perfect for soccer, the Union Grove High School Broncos boys varsity soccer team opened their season with a thrilling come-from-behind victory against Shoreland Lutheran Pacers. The match was held at Shoreland Lutheran High School on August 26, 2025.
The first half was challenging for the Broncos as they found themselves trailing 1-0 at halftime. However, the team's spirits were undampened. The Broncos turned the game around in the second half with a stellar performance.
After the break, Austin Polzin, assisted by Owen Sheahan, scored to bring the game to an even keel. The momentum continued to favor Union Grove as Niall Hagen netted what would be the game-winning goal. The Broncos' goalkeeper, Finn Jacobs, played a crucial role with key saves to secure the 2-1 victory.
