Union Grove High School Broncos Secure Convincing Victory in Girls Tennis
The Union Grove High School Broncos girls tennis team delivered a resounding performance against the Burlington Demons on September 4, 2025, at their home courts in Union Grove. Dominating the conference dual meet, the Broncos shut out the Demons with an impressive 7-0 victory, enhancing their season record to 17-1.
The standout singles matches saw remarkable performances across the board. Cam Smith, playing at #1 singles, secured a win with scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Lorelei Nelson followed suit at #2 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory, demonstrating her prowess on the court. #3 singles player Elli Duval and #4 singles Emma Santarelli both showcased their dominance by winning their matches without dropping a game, 6-0 6-0 each. Santarelli's win further solidified her exceptional season record to 16-2.
In doubles action, the Broncos were equally formidable. The #1 doubles team composed of Brooke Spang and Morgan Stewart won 6-0, 6-1. The #2 doubles team of Sophie Madden and Addy Callewaert, and the #3 team of Allison Wolf and Brooke Bournoville, continued the winning streak with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively, ensuring a clean sweep in all matches.
The Broncos' coach praised the team's performance, emphasizing that the entire squad played exceptionally well. Looking ahead, Union Grove will face Wilmot at Wilmot High School on September 9, 2025. The team appears well-prepared to extend their winning momentum.
