Union Grove High School Broncos Secure Victory in Badger at Union Grove Golf Match
The Union Grove High School Broncos showcased a dominant performance in their latest golf match against Badger, clinching a significant victory at the Ives Grove (Red Nine) course on September 4, 2025. Competing under the cool, sunny skies in the Varsity Girls category, the Broncos outshone their opponents with a total score of 183, compared to Badger's 207.
Key highlights included outstanding individual performances, particularly from Alana Keevers who led the team with a score of 40. Alana displayed remarkable resilience as she rebounded from an initial series of bogies with a strong finish over the last six holes, playing them 1-over par. Abby Waterworth, another highlight for the Broncos, nearly secured a hole-in-one on the challenging Par 3, 6th hole, ultimately securing a birdie. She recorded a career-best score of 46 during the match. Chelsea Haertel also contributed significantly with a score of 47.
Coach's reflections on the match emphasized the strengths and pivotal recoveries by the team members. "Overall we played really well today. Alana started with 3 bogies, but sank a long par putt on Hole 4 and was steady the rest of the way. Abby shot a career best 46, including a great birdie on Hole 6. Chelsea also played a solid round, shooting a 47," remarked the team's coach.
Looking ahead, the Union Grove Broncos will face Westosha next Tuesday. Their outstanding start this season, marked by an undefeated record of 3-0, indicates promising prospects for their upcoming competitions. Union Grove's continued success through this season is a testimony to their strategic play and preparation.
