Union Grove High School Broncos Shine at SE WI Indoor Championship

Union Grove High School's track and field team, the Broncos, delivered an impressive performance at the SE WI Indoor Championship held at UW-Parkside on April 4, 2025. The event featured strong showings from both the boys and girls varsity teams across various events. High points of the meet included standout performances in both track and field categories. Sophia Matuszek led the way with a sixth-place finish in the 1600m race and a champion title in the 1000m Racewalk. Cameryn Smith secured a fifth-place position in the 800m, closely followed by Alyssa Simpson who took sixth. On the boys' side, Samuel Matuszek also made a notable contribution by finishing fifth in the 1000m Racewalk. In the field events, the Broncos' athletes demonstrated their prowess with multiple podium placements. Ashley Lamers triumphed in the Girls Pole Vault, clearing a height of 10'6", while Sophia Matuszek and Mia Wilks followed in second and third place respectively in the same event. On the boys' side, Austin Polzin vaulted to second place. Abby Johnson took third in the Girls Long Jump, and in the Girls Shot Put, Breeya Katterhagen and Charlie Harman secured second and third place respectively. With such a successful outing, the Broncos are looking forward to their next challenge at the Wisconsin State Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place at UW-Whitewater on April 5, 2025. This next event promises to be another exciting showcase of the talent and dedication exhibited by the Union Grove High School Broncos.
