Union Grove High School Broncos Show Resilience at Taylor Clark Memorial Invite

On August 14, 2025, the Union Grove High School Broncos varsity girls golf team participated in the Taylor Clark Memorial Invite held at the Brighton Dale - White Course (Par 72). The Broncos, competing against schools such as Oregon, Divine Savior Holy Angels, and Wilmot, finished 4th with a commendable team score of 393. The tournament structure, an 18 hole stroke play, saw standout performances from the Broncos, particularly Alana Keevers who scored a 78, making her the second-best performer individually at the event. Other significant contributors included Chelsea Haertel and Aubrey Young, both of whom scored 101, along with Abby Waterworth and Ryann Paredes with scores of 113 and 118 respectively. Pivotal moments included Keevers' back-to-back birdies on Holes 15 and 16 and Waterworth's impressive recovery to shoot a solid 49 on her back nine. Coach's reflections revealed a mix of satisfaction and recognition of areas needing improvement. With only three days of preparation prior to the tournament and the challenge of playing 18 holes, which was unaccustomed for some of the players, the coach commended the girls for their resilience. The sunny weather with temperatures around 80 degrees was ideal for the day's play, adding to the overall setting of the invite. Looking ahead, the Broncos are set to compete next at the Tomah Invite on Monday, August 18. The upcoming tournament will offer another opportunity for the team to build on their recent performances and focus on their identified areas for growth.
