Union Grove High School Broncos Triumph at Southern Lakes Conference Golf Tournament
The Union Grove High School Broncos varsity girls' golf team clinched the top spot at the Southern Lakes Conference Tournament held at Brighton Dale - White Course on September 23, 2025. The team's remarkable performance secured them a tie for the conference title with Westosha Central.
Union Grove finished with a commendable score of 373, narrowly outplaying Westosha Central, who scored 379. Following them were Wilmot with 395, Badger with 390, Burlington with 398, Elkhorn with 409, and Waterford trailing with 430. This achievement marks Union Grove's first conference title tie in five years, highlighting a significant accomplishment for the team.
Among standout athletes were Alana Keevers and Aubrey Young from Union Grove, who delivered critical performances. Keevers, together with competitors Ellie Dixon from Wilmot and Chloe Teale from Badger, shared the spotlight, each carding an 87. Westosha's Camille Delost led the individual scores with an impressive 78.
Coach's insights added depth to the tournament's narrative. Reflecting on the challenges and the hard-fought victory, the coach commented, "We did not finish the round very well, but we managed to hang on for the victory. We needed to beat Westosha to earn a tie for the conference title, which was a great accomplishment. It has been 5 years since we won a title, and the girls really wanted this. I am proud that they were able to get it done."
Looking ahead, the Broncos are set to compete in the Regionals at Ives Grove on Wednesday, October 1, carrying forward their momentum and high spirits from this successful outing.
