Union Grove High School Girls' Soccer Secures 2-0 Win Over Lake Forest Academy

In a hard-fought non-conference match, Union Grove High School's varsity girls' soccer team clinched a solid 2-0 victory against Lake Forest Academy this Friday in Illinois. Despite challenging, damp conditions, the Broncos showcased their skills and endurance to prevail over the Caxy's.
The contest began promisingly for Union Grove when Rhyan Hood quickly found the back of the net in the 2nd minute, setting a determined pace for the match. The first half concluded with the Broncos leading 1-0. Hood wasn't done yet; with an assist from Gabby Gutman in the 44th minute, she doubled the lead and secured her place as the game's standout player by scoring both goals for her team.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Antonneau was a vital part of the team's success, earning her first shutout of the season with a commendable performance. The defensive line, anchored by Antonneau, played a crucial role in maintaining the lead and negating any offensive threats from Lake Forest Academy.
Looking ahead, the Broncos, now holding a 2-1 record for the season, are set to face Elkhorn High School next Tuesday at Union Grove High School. This win has undoubtedly boosted the team's confidence as they continue their season with high hopes and renewed vigor.
