On August 21, 2025, Union Grove High School's girls tennis team, the Broncos, continued their winning streak by clinching a victory against Beloit Memorial at a conference dual meet held in Union Grove. The home team showcased their dominance, sweeping the match 7-0 to maintain an unbeaten season record of 7-0. A key performance came from Union Grove's number 1 singles player, Cam Smith, who decisively defeated Beloit's Lisa Ramsden with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Smith's prowess was on display as she dominated after an early lead of 2-1 in the first set, winning nine consecutive games to secure the match. This outstanding performance contributed significantly to the team's victory, highlighting the skill level of the Broncos' players. After the meet, the coach praised the team, stating, 'I thought all our girls played at a high level.' This sentiment reflects the strong preparation and strategy that have been hallmarks of Union Grove's season. Looking ahead, Union Grove High School is scheduled to compete next at the Apple North Invitational in Appleton on August 25, 2025. The team aims to extend their winning streak and continue displaying their high caliber of play as they face new challenges in the upcoming tournament.
