Union Grove High School Girls Volleyball Team Faces The Westosha Central Falcons
The Union Grove High School Varsity Girls' Volleyball Broncos faced the Westosha Central High School Falcons in a conference match held at the home grounds on September 23, 2025. The match was part of a doubleheader event that also featured the boys' teams from both schools. In a gripping series of sets, the Broncos won the first set while the Falcons took the subsequent three, culminating in a victory for Westosha Central. In the first set, the Broncos edged out with a tight score of 25-23. Momentum swung in set two, where, despite a close game, the Falcons sealed the set with a score of 25-22. Westosha Central strengthened their position, winning the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-21, respectively. Key players from Union Grove included Natalie Dallmann with 16 kills, who significantly impacted the game alongside Jenna James (7), Alaina Pitts (9), and Cassie Klepp (6). Special recognitions were made for players Karis Tucker and Emma Sorensen for their critical roles. Tucker stepped into the libero jersey and played a great game of serve-recieve and executed two critical aces. Sorensen stepped out of the libero jersey and competed as a 6-2 setter. She came into the game with a great mentality and was ready to compete. She accumulated a total of 17 assists. Coach Abbie emphasized the team's intention and determination throughout the match, praising the players for staying aggressive and embracing every challenge faced. Similarly, Assistant Varsity Coach Kyle reminded the team that despite the final score, their performance carried the weight of a victory with their level of play against defending conference champions. Union Grove's next confrontation is scheduled against Burlington at Burlington High School on September 30, 2025. Currently, the Broncos are standing at 2-2 in conference play. As they prepare for their next challenge, the Broncos are focused on harnessing their strong points from the previous match to continue their season with determination and team spirit.
