Union Grove High School Track and Field Stands Out at Red Devil Invitational
On April 20, 2024, Union Grove High School's Track and Field teams showcased their athletic prowess at the Red Devil Invitational, hosted at Kenosha Bradford High School. The event, marked by strong competition from schools like Kenosha Bradford High School, Indian Trail Academy, and several others, saw Union Grove's athletes push their limits, achieving commendable results. The highlight of the day was the record-breaking performance by Nathan Tucker in the 100m Dash, setting a new school record of 11.00 seconds. He broke the record of 11.01s set by Kacey Spranger in 2023. 'Nathan has really impressed us with not only his speed but also his work ethic every day at practice,' stated Head Coach Nick Ambrose, underlining the significance of determination and discipline in sports. In the team's overall performance, the Union Grove Girls' team excelled by finishing third with 128 points, while the Boys' team secured the eighth position with 31 points. Notable individual performances included Camryn Smith and Ashley Lamers, who secured first place in their respective events, the 1000 Meter Run and 800 Meter Dash. Ashley Lamers' strengths showed in multiple events, placing second in the 400 Meter Dash and contributing significantly to the field events with a pole vault achievement of 11 feet. The dedication and talent of these athletes were key in elevating Union Grove High School's standings at the invitational. Looking ahead, the Broncos of Union Grove High School are scheduled to compete against Racine County Schools at the upcoming event on May 1, 2025, at Burlington High School. The teams are gearing up to build on their success and continue their strong performances in the competitive season ahead.
