Union Grove Places 12th Behind Alana Keevers's 75 at Bay Port Invite

Union Grove finished 12th with a four-player score of 358 at the Bay Port Invite on Aug. 20 at Thornberry, led by a fifth-place individual finish from Alana Keevers. The Broncos landed in the middle of a tightly packed section of the standings, one stroke behind Green Bay and one ahead of Brookfield Central.

Alana Keevers shot a 3-over 75 to lead Union Grove, opening with a 39 before closing with an even-par 36. That three-stroke improvement on the second nine helped secure fifth place individually and provided the Broncos' lowest counting score by 14 strokes.

Chelsea Haertel supplied Union Grove's second counting score with an 89, tying for 38th individually. Chelsea Haertel opened with a 41 and finished with a 48. Abby Waterworth tied for 47th after rounds of 47 and 45 produced a 92, giving the Broncos three scores below 100.

Adeline Dobrinska completed the team total with a 102, carding a 49 on the opening nine and a 53 on the closing nine. Aubrey Young, Union Grove's fifth golfer, finished with a 105 after recording nine-hole scores of 46 and 59. The Broncos' four counting rounds of 75, 89, 92 and 102 added up to 358.

Bay Port won the team championship with a 312, finishing 22 strokes ahead of runner-up Brookfield East, which posted a 334. Kaukauna took third with a 335, while DeForest placed fourth at 338 and Notre Dame Academy rounded out the top five at 343. Union Grove finished four strokes behind 10th-place Waunakee and remained one shot clear of 13th-place Brookfield Central.
