KENOSHA, Wis. - Union Grove swept all seven matches in straight sets Tuesday, earning a 7-0 nonconference victory over Kenosha Tremper. The Broncos claimed four singles and three doubles points while competing in overcast, 60-degree conditions with winds around 15 mph.
Lorelei Nelson led the singles lineup with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 position. The shutout improved Nelson’s season record to 19-6 and set the tone for a singles group that did not surrender more than four games in any set.
Brooke Spang continued her strong season at No. 2 singles, winning 6-2, 6-4 to move to 24-2. Emma Santarelli followed with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3, raising her record to 23-4. Allison Wolf completed the singles sweep at No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-0 win, improving to 19-7.
Union Grove was just as effective in doubles. Morgan Stewart and Brooke Bournoville controlled their No. 1 match from the opening set and secured a 6-0, 6-2 victory. The result was their 15th win of the season and gave the Broncos another decisive point in the team competition.
At No. 2 doubles, Ada Santarelli and Lila Elsbernd earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory to improve their record to 20-7. Ruby Christiansen and Bella Cerfus rounded out the lineup with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, moving their season mark to 22-4.
The complete sweep reflected the Broncos’ depth throughout the lineup. Union Grove lost only 27 games across 14 sets, with every singles player and doubles pairing closing out the match without needing a third set. The result gave the Broncos a convincing road win as Spang, Nelson, Emma Santarelli, Wolf and the team’s three doubles pairings added to their season totals.
