Joe Spear Runs 5.44-Second 40-Yard Dash at uReport Office Challenge
ROCKY_RIVER, Ohio - Joe Spear, a mainstay of the Customer Success team at uReport, finished a 40-yard dash challenge with a best time of 5.44 seconds Monday, October 12, at noon in Westlake, Ohio. Spear clocked 5.51 seconds on the first attempt. Both runs fell short of the sub-5-second mark Spear had confidently predicted to coworkers.
The challenge turned months of the Cleveland office debate into a timed test, with pump-up music helping set the scene. Spear’s warmup and start left room for improvement, but was a valiant and worthy effort. Before running, Spear described the challenge as a personal test and expressed a desire to keep getting faster. Peter Fitzpatrick supplied the undercard performance, running 5.11 seconds.
Much of the Cleveland office lined up to watch and cheer. Coworkers had doubted the prediction, but that skepticism came with enthusiastic support when it was time to run.
For this challenge, DistrictWON utilized a laser timer to measure the runs electronically rather than rely on a handheld stopwatch. That emphasis on data-driven results connects the competition directly to Joe's Customer Success team, mirroring his efforts to perform at his best when not engaged in competitive sprinting. The equipment will be a valuable tool to help measure future challenges.
Soon after the afternoon challenge, the office’s sports conversations flipped to tonight’s Tribe game in the ALCS. Following a Game 5 win over the White Sox in the ALDS, the Tribe enters the next round looking to carry that momentum further into the playoffs. We hope the Tribe can be inspired by Joe Spear as much as he has been inspired by them!
