Voorhees University Men's Basketball Ready to Shine in New Season
As Voorhees University gears up for another thrilling season of men's basketball, anticipation is running high under the leadership of Head Coach James C. Williams, entering his second season with a career record of 12-16. The Tigers, known for their resilience and team spirit, are set to bring an exciting mix of athleticism and skill to the court in the 2024-25 season. Last season, the Tigers showcased their capability, especially in conference games where they boasted a strong 7-2 record. Despite an overall record of 12-17, these performances have laid a strong foundation for the current squad. Looking ahead, Voorhees University has a packed schedule, beginning with an away game at Life University on October 26. Coach Williams expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, 'Well, for this particular upcoming season, I'm extremely excited to see this group. We've got a great group of guys off the floor, so you want to see the camaraderie and the connectedness off the floor translate on the floor. We definitely are going to be an exciting team. We've got a couple of guys that are High Flyers. This group is probably the most athletic group that we've had here, guys that can translate athleticism on the floor. I'm excited to see that, but more importantly, just to get the season kicked off! This season promises special highlights, starting with the Homecoming game on November 9 against South Carolina Central Christian College, which marks the team's first home event at the Leonard E. Dawson Human Resource Center. Notable returning players include Keshawn Evans, known for his scoring and rebounding abilities, Keyshaun Fleetion with his impressive assists record, and Bryce Wilson, another key scorer. These athletes are set to play pivotal roles as Voorhees strives for a significant impact both in and out of conference.
