Voorhees University Tigers Face Narrow Defeat in HBCU Athletic Conference Basketball Game
In a closely contested basketball game, the Voorhees University Tigers were edged out by Oakwood University (AL) with a final score of 85-83. This regular season HBCU Athletic Conference game took place on November 22, 2025, at the Leonard E. Dawson Health and Human Resources Center.
The game began with Oakwood gaining an early lead as Grener Polynice scored the first points. Voorhees' Omari Bryson quickly responded with two consecutive 3-pointers, evening the score at 6-6. Despite strong performances from Voorhees, including defensive steals and effective shooting, Oakwood maintained their advantage, leading 38-37 at halftime.
The second half proved to be a tight contest with both teams exchanging leads. Notably, Daethan Harris of Voorhees sunk a critical free throw in the closing stages, making it a one-point game.
