Behrns Leads Austin Catholic to Top-10 Team Finish at Macomb County Tournament

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Aubri Behrns shot a team-low 107 to lead the Austin Catholic High School Girls Golf team to a 10th place team finish at the Macomb County Tournament on Monday, Sept. 21. The Crusaders posted a four-player total of 503 to earn top-10 honors in the 13-team county field.
Behrns finished 23rd among 69 golfers, giving Austin Catholic its highest individual placement of the tournament. Her round established the pace for a Crusaders lineup that had all four golfers complete the county event.
Francesca Gray added a 118 and finished 40th. She also delivered Austin Catholic’s most memorable shot, holing out from 100 yards for a birdie. The long-distance conversion provided a highlight during the Crusaders’ round and helped Gray record the team’s second-lowest score.
Keely Bieske and Allison Kruckel each carded a 139, tying for 65th place. Their matching rounds completed Austin Catholic’s team score and secured the Crusaders’ place among the top 10 programs in the county standings.
Austin Catholic’s balanced four-player effort, led by Behrns’ 23rd-place finish and Gray’s hole-out birdie, produced a 10th-place showing against a field of 13 county teams.
