Bay Boys Soccer Triumph in Special Soccer Friendly
With a commanding victory of 6-1 against the Bay Alumni, the Bay High School Rockets men's varsity soccer team showcased its dominance on the field earlier this month. Held under clear, sunny skies, this special friendly matchup on August 1, 2025, at Bay High School, not only served as a competition but also as a tribute to honor Dylan Veselic. The game opened with vigor as the Rockets took an aggressive stance early on. Evan Chatteau initiated the scoring run with the first goal, setting a strong tone for the Rockets. As the game progressed, the Bay High School team continued to build its advantage with John Messmore netting the second goal, followed by a rally of successful attempts from Andrew Starnes, Brady Anderson, and Oliver Marotta, each adding to the tally. The culminating goal of the tournament came from Liam Schelzig, who decisively scored the game-winning sixth goal, sealing a resounding triumph for the Rockets. Defensively, the Rockets were well-guarded with Logan Jennrich as the goalie for the first half, demonstrating commendable skill and resilience. He was relieved by Henry Schriner in the second half, who maintained the defensive stronghold, preventing the Alumni from upturning the match. This victory not only demonstrates the Rockets' exceptional skill and teamwork but also highlights their continued dedication and respect for their fellow athletes, as shown by their tribute to Dylan Veselic during the match. As the season begins to progress, it will be intriguing to see how this formidable team advances.
