Bay Boys Track & Field tops North Olmsted 87-50 in Dual Meet

Bay Boys Track & Field defeated North Olmsted 87-50 in a dual meet at North Olmsted on Wednesday April 22nd.

The Rockets piled up points across the track and in the field, led by multiple-event winners Max Fischer and Stephen Murphy. Fischer swept the hurdles, taking first in both the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, while Murphy won the 1,600 and 3,200. Bay also got a win from Colin McAlea in the 100, plus first-place relay finishes in the 4x100 and 4x200.

McAlea added a runner-up finish in the 200, where Avery Banks placed third, and Evan Taulbee took second in the 100 to give Bay another strong sprint showing. Nick Cebulis finished second in the 400. In the hurdles, Fischer’s double was backed by Oliver Marotta, who placed third in the 300 hurdles.

Bay’s relay teams delivered key wins. The 4x200 quartet of Will Curran, Ben Kamm, Max Fischer and Jayden Perrine won comfortably, and the 4x100 team of Curran, Ryan Connors, Cole Aslasken and Jack Downing also finished first. In the distance races, Murphy’s two victories set the pace, while Adrian Ray placed third in both the 1,600 and 3,200.

The Rockets were especially strong in the field events. Bay swept the top three spots in discus, with Andrew Egan finishing first, Danny Zipfel second and Henry Wyman third. In shot put, Braeden Egan took first, Andrew Egan was second and Zipfel finished third, giving Bay another 1-2-3 scoring effort. Jackson Smith won the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches. Marotta added a victory in the long jump with Ben Rickson in second, and Logan Bigrigg won the pole vault while Aslasken placed second.

With victories in the sprints, hurdles, distance races, relays and multiple field events, Bay built the depth needed to control the meet from start to finish. The 87-point outing gave the Rockets a well-rounded road win and a long list of first-place finishes.
