Bay High School Basketball Suffers Narrow Defeat to Normandy
In a thrilling regular season basketball clash at Bay High School, the Rockets were narrowly edged out by the Normandy Invaders with a final score of 54-52 on January 17, 2025. Despite a strong performance from senior Collin Melvin, who led the team with 19 points, Bay could not secure a victory and fell to a 9-6 season record.
The Rockets started the game on a competitive note, trailing just behind at halftime with a score of 22-25. However, their shooting was off-mark, as they recorded a season-low in field goal percentage, which ultimately cost them the game. Senior Caleb Rinehart was a notable presence on the court, earning the Light The Fuse Player of the Game. Rinehart contributed 6 points, shooting an impressive 3/4 from the field and provided five critical assists.
Despite the loss, the Rockets have little time to dwell on the defeat; they are set to face Buckeye at Buckeye High School on January 21, 2025. The game offers Bay High a chance to rebound and improve their standing in the Cleveland West Conference, where they currently hold a 4-4 record.
