Bay High School Rockets Beat Elyria Pioneers in Non-Conference Basketball Clash
In an impressive display of teamwork and skill, the Bay High School Rockets varsity basketball team secured a decisive victory over the Elyria Pioneers, with a final score of 54-32 on January 13, 2025. Held away from home, this non-conference game showcased the Rockets' selflessness on the court from start to finish. The game kicked off with the Rockets taking a commanding lead, ending the first half at 31-12. This early advantage was a clear indicator of their control over the game, a trend that continued through the second half. Standout performances came from Madelyn Lee, Norah Trefz, and Quinn O'Leary, each contributing 11 points to the team's tally. Notably, freshman Madelyn Lee achieved a career high in points, making significant contributions to the game's outcome. The Rockets demonstrated excellent team play, which Coach commented on, stating, "I thought our ball and player movement was really good. We played very unselfish basketball tonight." This strategic play was evident as eight different players scored during the game, highlighting the depth and versatility of the team. With this win, the Rockets' season record now stands at 7-7. They look forward to continuing their momentum in their next game against Normandy on January 18, 2025, which will also be held away.
