In a heartfelt display of sportsmanship and team spirit, Bay High School's varsity basketball team, the Rockets, celebrated an emotional senior night by securing a win against their rivals, the Buckeye Bucks, on January 22, 2025. The home crowd witnessed a stirring 33-24 victory that honored the dedication of its senior players in a significant conference game. The evening was marked by senior night ceremonies that highlighted the contributions of 5 seniors, making it a memorable event filled with gratitude towards parents, players, and school administration. The seniors started strong, helping the team set a commanding halftime lead of 21-11. Despite an emotionally charged start which saw Bay initially struggling to find their rhythm, the Rockets regrouped effectively as the game progressed. Coach praised the team's resilience post-festivities, stating, 'The game was a little sloppy in the first quarter as emotions were running high after the senior night festivities, but we were able to regroup in the second quarter. I am super proud of our effort tonight and thank you seniors for all your dedication to our program.'
