Bay High School Rockets Dominate in Latest Swimming & Diving Dual Meet Victory

Bay High School's Swimming & Diving team showcased its strength in their recent dual meet against North Olmsted, with both the boys' and girls' teams securing victories fueled by standout performances. The meet concluded with the boys scoring 95 to North Olmsted's 82, and the girls leading at 90 against 78. The boys' team maintained their undefeated streak, winning their third dual meet of the season. Junior Ollie Brown was a key player, winning both the 100 FR and 100 BR events. Sophomore Luke Filiatraut triumphed in the 100 fly and took second in the 100 backstroke. Notably, senior diver Charlie Vatolin led the diving event with an impressive score of 230.62. Seniors Aaron Bernys and Peyton Myers also contributed significantly, placing second in their events. The clinching factor for the Rockets' success was their dominance in the 400 free relay, where they secured the top two positions. The girls' team echoed this success, with remarkable performances leading to multiple event sweeps. Freshman Moriah Murtha, alongside junior Lily Wavak and another freshman Ruby Render, swept the 50 free, showing depth in the team lineup. Murtha continued her winning streak in the 100 free, supported by Wavak and senior Jen Harman. Freshman Emery Ziemnik, once again, stood out by winning both the 100 fly and 200 IM. Senior Belle Dent dominated the diving event with a score of 189.22. The Rocket girls also shone in relay events, finishing first in both the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. These victories not only highlight individual talents such as Murtha, Ziemnik, and Brown but also underscore Bay High School's collective capability and strategic depth. As the season progresses, the Rockets' teams are proving to be formidable contenders.
