Bay High School Rockets Dominate in Swimming & Diving Against Valley Forge

In a remarkable display of skill and coordination, both boys and girls Swimming & Diving teams at Bay High School, decisively defeated Valley Forge in their recent dual meet. Scores recorded were Boys: Bay 123, Valley Forge 44; Girls: Bay 118, Valley Forge 39. The Rockets' boys team demonstrated their prowess by winning every single event. Standout swimmers included Ollie Brown, Peter Sutherland, and Jason Hartzell who swept the 200 freestyle. In the sprinting category, Sam Farrar, John Allan, and Ilias Ghaffari secured a sweep in the 50 freestyle, while Aaron Bernys, Farrar, and Peyton Myers did the same in the 100 freestyle. A notable performance came from freshman Liam Jager, who won the 100 backstroke, and placed second in the 400m freestyle behind sophomore Luke Filiatraut. Senior Charlie Vatolin made a splash by securing first in diving. The team's strength was further displayed as they dominated all three relay events. The Rockets' girls team mirrored the boys' success by also winning every event, featuring sweeps in the 200 freestyle by Moriah Murtha, Emery Ziemnik, and Addy Uhlar and in the 100 freestyle by Ruby Render, Jen Harman, and Jane Fanter. Distinctive accomplishments came from senior Gwynn Miller and junior Lily Wavak in their individual events. Senior Hannah Starnes proved her mettle by winning first in diving, setting an example of excellence. Like their male counterparts, the girls relay teams showed formidable coordination and teamwork by winning all three relay events. This dual meet emphasized the Rockets' unmatched skill in the swimming & diving arena as both teams continue to uphold the high standards set by Bay High School's legacy.
