Bay High School Rockets Dominate Westlake in Volleyball Showdown
The Bay High School Rockets showcased their skill and teamwork in a triumphant regular season conference volleyball face-off against the Westlake Demons on September 2, 2025, at Bay High School. The Rockets won the match in three straight sets, securing a comprehensive 3-0 victory.
The match opened strongly for the Rockets, who clinched the first set 25-20. Building on the initial momentum, the Rockets continued to overwhelm the Demons in the subsequent sets with scores of 25-12 and 25-13 respectively. With each set, Bay High School demonstrated a commanding presence on the court, systematically dismantling the opposition’s defense with a mixture of powerful service games and strategic plays.
Key players such as Olivia Miller and Amelia Vecchio significantly contributed to the team's success, each scoring 10 service points. Ella Hoerig added another layer of performance with 7 service points, complemented effectively by Payton Masterson's 6 and Nina Peet's 3 service points. Additionally, Emma Filiatraut, Andy Naughton, Camille Costin, Fiona Walden, and Olivia Stehlik contributed service points to round out a well-facilitated team effort.
Looking ahead, the Rockets, with a current record of 5-1, are scheduled to face Buckeye High School next on September 4, 2025, at the Buckeye High School’s court. This upcoming face-off is eagerly anticipated as the Rockets aim to maintain their strong start to the season.
