The Bay High School Rockets commenced their regular season with a challenging encounter against Avon High School on August 15, 2025, at Avon. The match concluded with a narrow 1-0 victory for Avon, marking a tough start for Bay in this varsity girls soccer event. Throughout the first half, Avon established a lead with a goal by Sydney Thomas. Despite vigorous efforts, Bay couldn't find the back of the net, leaving them trailing by halftime. Bay was able to create multiple scoring opportunities, however, they were unable to score, leaving the final score at 1-0 in favor of Avon. Notably, freshman Chloe Kazma delivered an impressive performance in her debut varsity game, earning her the title of player of the game for Bay. Reflecting on the game, the coach acknowledged the quality of the Avon team and their capacity to pressure the Rockets into turnovers. He praised his team's response and their ability to mount dangerous attacks, though lamented the absence of finishing touches to capitalize on these chances. Looking ahead, Bay aims to refine their strategies and comeback stronger. Their next commitment is a face-off against Revere at Revere High School on August 23, 2025. The Rockets, holding a current record of 0-1-0, are optimistic about a turnaround in their upcoming game.
