Bay High School Rockets Face Off in Dual 9-hole Match vs. Normandy
The Bay High School Rockets competed in a challenging 9-hole stroke play golf event against the Normandy Invaders on September 23, 2025, at Sweetbriar Golf Course. Despite overcast and windy conditions, the team showcased skill and determination.
In this varsity boys match, the Rockets scored a total of 172 points, closely trailing Normandy who registered 167 points. Highlighting the event were top individual performances from the Rockets’ golfers. Jack Wunder led the team with a score of 40, marking his third consecutive round with scores of 41 or below. Fellow player Aidan Carey followed closely with a 41, capping off a remarkable freshman season. Will Schrock and Deloy Johnson also contributed respectable scores of 45 and 46, respectively.
The event not only highlighted individual skill but also the considerable potential within the Rockets’ youthful lineup. Coach remarked on the squad’s admirable performance against the more experienced Invaders and noted promising prospects for players like Deloy Johnson in upcoming seasons. Additionally, player Jack commented on his desire for a longer season, reflecting his growing confidence and high level of competition.
By all indications, the Rockets have a season of growth and potential ahead. Their sportsmanship and enthusiasm have set a solid foundation for next year, promising to bring more exciting performances to the Bay High School community.
