Bay High School Rockets Fall Narrowly to Rocky River Pirates in Varsity Lacrosse
In a closely contested conference lacrosse game, Bay High School's girls varsity team, the Rockets, were narrowly defeated by the Rocky River High School Pirates with a final score of 12-11. The chilly match, which took place on March 25, 2025, at Rocky River High School, saw a fierce performance from both teams. Bay High School's top scorer, Layla Meaux, impressively netted five goals and provided three assists, showcasing her significant contribution to the team's efforts. Jill Tennant also played a remarkable game, adding three more goals to the Rockets' tally, while Nolie Piktel contributed two goals. Gracie Fitchpatrick rounded out the scoring with a goal. Additionally, Carlin Biondi aided the team's offensive efforts with an assist. In goal, Sophia Crimaldi defended the Rockets’ net, playing a crucial role throughout the game. Despite their efforts, the final whistle marked a victory for Rocky River. Looking ahead, the Rockets are set to face Walsh Jesuit High School at their home ground, Bay Memorial Stadium, on March 27, 2025.
