Bay High School Rockets Golf Faces Tough Challenge at Ironwood Golf Course

Rick Manderine | Bay High School | Aug 11, 2025

In a closely contested Junior Varsity Boys golf tournament, the Bay High School Rockets were unable to secure a win against the St. Edward Eagles at the Ironwood Golf Course on August 4, 2025. The match, described as an 18-hole stroke play tournament, saw the Rockets scoring a team total of 385 against the Eagles' 340.

The event featured sunny weather with temperatures in the high 70s, accompanied by a light wind, creating ideal conditions for golf. Despite the favorable weather, Rockets coach noted that the team struggled with the course's undulations and the strong performance from their opponents. This sentiment was echoed by top performers Aiden Carey and Will Schrock, both expressing the need to improve their tee shots to effectively approach the greens on their second shots.

Bay High School's Rockets, represented here by their Junior Varsity Boys team, aim to learn from this experience as they prepare for their next challenge at the Pioneer Classic hosted at Carlisle Golf Course. With a current season record of 0-1, the Rockets are focused on adjustments that would enhance their play on courses with diverse terrains.
