Bay High School Rockets Golf Team Shows Strong Performance at Panther Classic

The Bay High School Rockets Golf team participated in the Panther Classic held at Grey Hawk Golf Club on August 6, 2025. This 18-hole stroke play tournament hosted teams from Cuyahoga, Lorain, Stark, and Wayne County. The Varsity Boys team ended the day with a team score of 356, showcasing their skills against 26 competing teams.

The Rockets' top performers included juniors Matthew Mileti with a score of 84, Emmitt Naughton who scored 86, and both Ryan Skryp and Will Schrock who each scored 93. Freshman Aiden Carey also demonstrated his potential with a commendable score of 96. Notable moments of the tournament featured Matthew Mileti's birdie on his first hole, Emmitt Naughton making two birdies during the round, and Will Schrock's strong finish of 42 on the back 9. Aiden Carey showed consistent play both off the tees and from the fairways, which played a key role in his score.

According to the coach, 'Our youthful squad competed admirably and made a name for themselves. It was a great day for our program. The tradition will continue.' Aiden Carey, reflecting on his performance, said, 'I was proud of my score. It was a lot of fun to play with the varsity team. I can't wait to do it again.'

Looking ahead, the Rockets will continue their season at the Cleveland West Conference Preview at Copper-Top Golf Course. Currently, the team holds a season record of 33-27, indicating a strong series of performances. This event was also a display of the team's spirit, playing with pride and smiles throughout the day.
