On August 12, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets, representing the boys' varsity golf team, secured a decisive victory over the North Olmsted Eagles at the Springvale Golf Course in North Olmsted, Ohio. The match, played under sunny skies with temperatures in the low 90s and breezy conditions, resulted in a standout performance from the Rockets, culminating in a team score of 160 to the Eagles' 205.

The 9-hole stroke play dual match saw impressive performances from several Rockets players. Emmitt Naughton led his team with a remarkable score of 37, featuring two key birdies. Notably, his 10-foot birdie putt on the opening hole set a positive tone for the team early in the round. Matthew Mileti also distinguished himself by scoring birdies on the final three consecutive holes, 7th through 9th, bringing his score to 38. Ryan Skryp and Blake Ropelewski contributed solid scores of 42 and 43, respectively, with Ropelewski playing the last five holes at just one over par.

The iron play was a pivotal factor in the Rockets' win, as acknowledged by the coach in his post-match remarks, highlighting it as key to the team's consistent performance. The players echoed this sentiment, with Emmitt noting an improvement in his swing alignment that led to more birdie opportunities. Looking ahead, the Rockets will be participating in the Mustang Classic at Bunker Hill, aiming to build on their current season record of 39 wins and 31 losses.

The Rockets' next challenge at the Mustang Classic offers another opportunity to demonstrate their skills and team cohesion. The team continues to refine their techniques and strategies as they progress through the season, underlined by strong individual performances and strategic plays.
