Bay High School Rockets Make a Splash in Avon Lake Pentathlon Swimming Invitational
On January 3, 2026, the Bay Rockets competed in the Avon Lake Swimming Invitational against formidable rivals including Rocky River, Westlake, Normandy, Avon Lake, Amherst, Elyria Catholic, North Ridgeville and Olmsted Falls. The boys and girls teams combined to secure a commendable 4th place at the event. Leading the way for the Rockets were standout performers from both the boys and girls teams. Senior Ollie Brown was exemplary, clinching 2nd place overall in the meet, significantly bolstering the team's score. Luke Filiatraut also contributed notably with his 4th place finish, while John Allan finished strong in the top 16, contributing crucial points to the boys' effort. On the girls' side, Moriah Murtha led with a 9th place overall finish. Ruby Render also made substantial contributions by securing a 15th place finish. Sam Farrar, Ilias Ghaffari, and Lily Wavak further added to the team's success with key scoring performances. The event highlighted the depth and skill of the Bay Rockets, showcasing strong performances across the board and setting a solid groundwork for future competitions. The team's determination and hard work were evident as they competed against a large field of competitors in this lengthy tournament adorned with challenging contests from several schools.
