Bay High School Rockets Secure 2rd Place at Wooster High School Cross Country Invitational

On September 6, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets girls' cross country team delivered a robust performance at the Wooster High School Cross Country Invitational, earning a commendable third place in the Division 2 race. The event, attended by notable schools such as Hudson, Wadsworth, Amherst Steele, and others, was a showcase of regional talent and competitive spirit. Leading the Rockets' effort was Maya Gonzalez, who captured 6th place with a time of 18:54, followed by teammates Clare Messmore and Anika Schulz, who finished 17th and 29th with times of 19:15 and 19:26 respectively. Other remarkable performances included Anne Weber, who crossed the finish line at 20:01, Nolie Piktel at 20:54, and Elyse Edelman at 21:01. The team’s success was highlighted by all top three runners breaking the 19:30 mark, underscoring their strong preparation and determination. Coach Scott Snyder praised the team's collective effort, noting the personal bests achieved in both the Varsity and Open races. 'This was a great total team performance against some of the top 10 teams in our Regionals. We had a lot of personal bests in the Varsity race and the Open,' remarked Coach Snyder, reflecting on the event's outcomes. The Rockets are set to continue their season at the Boardman Spartan Invitational on September 13, 2025, where they will strive to build on their strong performances and further hone their competitive edge.
