Bay High School Rockets Secure Convincing Win Over Lutheran West in Volleyball Clash
The Bay High School Rockets girls varsity volleyball team maintained their unbeaten streak with a resounding victory against the Lutheran West Longhorns. The regular season non-conference event held at Bay High School on August 21, 2025, ended in a straight-set triumph for the Rockets.
The opening set showcased the Rockets' dominance, as they overpowered the Longhorns with a compelling 25-12 score. The momentum continued into the second set, although Lutheran West put up a stiffer resistance but eventually fell 25-19. In the final set, the Longhorns nearly caught up but were outlasted by the Rockets, finishing at 25-23, sealing a 3-0 victory for Bay High School.
Standout performances marked the game. Leading server Payton Masterson contributed an impressive 16 service points. Nina Peet and Ella Hoerig strongly supported the team with 9 and 6 service points respectively, while Andy Naughton added 4 and Olivia Stehlik contributed 3. Amelia Vecchio also chipped in with 1 point. The team's JV and freshman squads also recorded wins against Lutheran West, reflecting strength across all levels.
Looking ahead, the Rockets will visit Archbishop Hoban High School on August 23, 2025, to face Archbishop Hoban. With a current record of 2-0, the Rockets aim to continue their winning ways in the challenging season ahead.
