Bay High School Rockets Shine at LEGGA Conference Preview
The Bay High School Rockets Varsity Girls Golf team delivered an impressive performance at the LEGGA Conference Preview held on August 5, 2025, at Grey Hawk Golf Club. Competing against formidable opponents such as Rocky River, Keystone, Westlake, North Olmsted, Columbia, and Wellington, the Rockets secured a commendable second place out of seven participating teams. The tournament format was an 18-hole round, where the Rockets scored a total of 405, positioning them just behind Keystone, which led with a score of 347. During the event, the Rockets were neck and neck with Rocky River and Westlake for the coveted second-place position. The decisive moment came on the final hole, where the Rockets managed to surpass Rocky River by a narrow margin of three strokes. Key performances were seen from several Rockets players, with Annabel Sjoberg leading the team scoring 96, followed closely by Charlotte Fox at 98. Other significant contributors included Caroline Kousaie with 102, Mariah VanNewhouse scoring 109, and Cannon Conley at 111. The collective effort of these players was pivotal in Bay's leap towards the second-place finish. Looking ahead, the Rockets are scheduled to participate in the Willard Tournament on August 7, where they aim to continue their strong performance and vie for top honors. As the team prepares, their recent success at the LEGGA Conference Preview is sure to boost their confidence and readiness for the upcoming challenges.
