Bay JV Boys Golf Faces Rocky River Pirates in JV Dual Match
The Bay High School Rockets Golf team confronted the Rocky River Pirates in a tense Junior Varsity Boys 9-hole stroke play at Sweetbriar Golf Course on August 25, 2025. Despite challenging overcast and windy conditions, which saw temperatures in the high 60s, the Rockets narrowly missed a win with a score of 178, just five strokes more than the Pirates' 173. The Rockets' lineup showcased some commendable performances under the less-than-ideal weather conditions. Freshman Aiden Carey led the team with a notable score of 41, followed by Jack Wunder who carded a 44, Ryan Skryp with a 45, and Sam Vardon rounding out the team's top performers with a 47. This event marked a strenuous but valuable experience as the team navigated the wet golf course. Responding to the day's outcome, Coach shared that the conditions presented a learning opportunity for the team and expressed confidence in better preparation for similar future encounters. Aiden Carey, reflecting on the match, voiced his anticipation for a rematch against Rocky River, asserting optimism for a favorable result in their next encounter. Looking forward, the Rockets Golf team prepares to engage in another Dual Match against the Lakewood Rangers at Pinebrook. As the season progresses, the Rockets currently hold a record of 33-28, prominently backed by Aiden Carey's impressive freshman campaign which continues to gain recognition for his consistency and dedication on the range.
