Bay Varsity Girls Golf Posts Three Career Lows in 205-194 Road Loss to Westlake
Bay High School recorded three career-low rounds, but the Rockets fell 205-194 to Westlake in a closely contested CWC road match Aug. 6 at Little Met Golf Course.
Caroline Kousaie led Bay with a 48, the lowest round posted by a Rockets golfer. Samantha Fry followed with a career-low 50, keeping Bay within range as the team assembled its four counting scores. Stella Turrall added another career best with a 53, and Charlotte Hofelich completed the scoring with a career-low 54.
Those four rounds combined for Bay’s team total of 205. The performance represented a clear step forward from the Rockets’ previous match, when they shot 212. Despite that seven-stroke improvement and career lows from three of the four scoring golfers, Westlake finished at 194 to secure the 11-stroke victory.
Bay also received rounds of 58 from Lydia Oldham and Katherine Bowler. Although those scores did not factor into the four-player team total, the Rockets received closely grouped production across the lineup, with all six golfers finishing within 10 strokes of the team-leading 48. Bay left the course with three individual milestones and its best team score of the young season, providing a measurable sign of progress despite the CWC defeat.
