Bay Rockets Boys Cross Country Competes in CWC Championship

This past Saturday, the Rockets finished 6th overall at the CWC Championship with a team score of 110 points. Their efforts culminated in an average team time of 17:22 and a 1-5 split of 1:04. Notable performances included Sacha Jones, who placed 16th to be named 3nd team all conference with a time of 17:07.12, and Liam Jager, who came in 20th with a finishing time of 17:16.02. Stephen Murphy also contributed significantly by securing the 26th position with a time of 17:28.24, while Mikey Taylor completed the team's top five in 35th place at 18:02.39. Dan Buttrick ran a 3 second PR in a time of 19:24. The highlight of the Varsity race was Gavin English who finished in 13th place with an impressive time of 16:58.86, securing 2nd team all conference as a 9th grader. In the Open Race, the Bay boys shined. Leading the was Graham Dunstan with a time of 19:17. Right on Graham's tail was Leo Krueger who also ran a 19:17 for a 12 second PR. Micah Bendoritis was next up running a 18 second PR for a time of 19:29. Liam Loeffler ran an extremely gutsy race despite dealing with several injuries. Loeffler ran a 2 minute and 15 second PR to break the 20 minute barrier for the first time in a time of 19:58! Jonah Bendoritis ran his season best time by 12 seconds and participated in the School Play later that day, talk about talent! Gerry Maloney ran a very strong race for a PR of 21:28 which improves his PR by 17 seconds. Gavin Fry cut 54 seconds off his PR to run a 21:46. Looking ahead, the Bay High School Rockets are set to participate in the District Championship on October 18, 2025, at LCCC.
