Bay Rockets Boys Golf battle it out in a Friendly Intersquad Match

In an engaging day on the greens, Bay High School's junior varsity boys' golf team, known as the Rockets Golf, showcased their skills in the Blue-White Event at the Briar-Patch in Avon Lake, Ohio, on August 18, 2025. This intersquad match pitted the Blue team against the White team in a 9-hole stroke play event, concluding with a narrow victory for the White team with a score of 168 to Blue's 170. The conditions were ideal for golf, with sunny skies and a mild breeze around 10 mph. The team displayed excellent form, but it was the White team that had standout performances from Aiden Carey with a score of 40, Ryan Skryp with 41, and Blake Ropelewski finishing with 42. Deloy Johnson made crucial strokes, including a pivotal four on the final hole which secured the victory for his team by a two-stroke margin, reflecting his season-low score of 45. In addition, Team Blue's members brought their best efforts. Max Prahl marked a career low by scoring 42, tying with Will Schrock, while Sam Vardon was close behind with a 44. Their efforts showcased the rising talent within the Rockets Golf ranks, as echoed by the words of Rocket's golf coach, "Our young talent is passionate about the game. They enjoy playing and are continuing to impress." The event was more than just competition; it was a fun and formative experience for the players. Team Captain Trevor Ormsby commented, 'The event was fun. We all hit the ball well. The young players are making nice strides. They can be great in the future if they continue to work.' Looking ahead, the next challenge for the Rockets Golf team is against the Westlake Demons at Sweetbriar, where they aim to continue their positive momentum.
