Bay Rockets Boys Soccer Narrowly Misses Victory in State Final

In a keenly contested Boys Soccer State Final, the Bay Rockets were edged out by Worthington Christian with a final score of 2-1 in overtime. The match took place on a cold, snowy afternoon at Historic Crew Stadium on November 9, 2025. Despite both teams fighting hard in the first half, neither was able to break the deadlock, leading to a halftime score of 0-0. The Rockets displayed a robust defensive line, backed by the efforts of their goalie, Logan Jennrich, who was pivotal in keeping the first half goalless. As the match progressed 2 minutes to overtime, the tension escalated. Andrew Starnes rose to the occasion, scoring the sole goal for the Rockets, thanks to an assist from Brogan Wynocker. However, Worthington Christian followed up with a goal of their own with 1 minute left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Then early in overtime, Worthington Christian followed up with their second goal of the game to win 2-1. The Rockets conclude their season with an impressive record of 20 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws. The team played hard throughout the match. Despite the tough outcome in this final match, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the season.
