Bay Rockets Dominate Normandy Invaders in Varsity Basketball Showdown
In an impressive display of skill and strategy, the Bay Rockets varsity basketball team secured a convincing victory against the Normandy Invaders on December 17, 2024, at Normandy High School. The final score stood at 62-32 in favor of Bay, marking a significant win in this regular season encounter.
From the outset, Bay dominated the court, setting a formidable pace with a halftime lead of 24-11. One of the most notable moments in the game was the Rocket's defensive strategy, which limited Normandy to a mere 3 points in the first quarter and continued robust defense throughout the game, ensuring that Normandy scored in single digits in three of the four quarters.
Bay's offense was equally impressive. Ryan Miller led the scoring with 19 points, followed closely by Collin Melvin with 15 points and Max Cockburn with 13 points. Additional standout performances included Ethan George, who had a season-high 7 steals, and Emmitt Naughton, who not only provided the highest assists of the season but also earned the 'Light The Fuse Player of The Game' accolade for both his offensive and defensive efforts.
Looking ahead, the Rockets are set to face Rocky River at Bay High School on December 20, 2024. With their current record at 5-2 and an undefeated 3-0 in the CWC, the Rockets are gearing up to maintain their strong form as they continue through the season.
